Study Finds Youth with Autism Have Greater Difficulty Finding Employment After High School
Results of a study published in journal Pediatrics find that youth with ASD have more difficulty finding work and educational opportunities after high school compared with youth with other disabilities. Thirty-five percent of youth with ASD had attended college and 55 percent had held paid employment during the first six years after high school.  Learn more about helping youth with ASDs make the transition to work.

Health Care Providers Settle HIV Discrimination Complaints with Justice Department
The U.S. Department of Justice has reached settlements with health care providers that refused services to people with HIV in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Two men with HIV were denied medical services by a podiatrist and a chiropractor because of their HIV. On a visit to one of the clinics the receptionist told the individual that the doctor would not see him because they could not treat people “like him.”

EEOC Makes State Charge Data Available Online
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunitiy Commission (EEOC) has made available online data of private sector workplace discrimination charge statisticsfor each of the nation’s 50 states and U.S. Territories for fiscal years 2009-2011. These data provide a look at EEOC charge receipts, broken down by the basis of discrimination, as well as the percent of total state and national charges.

HUD Settles Housing Discrimination Lawsuit Involving Tenant with Disabilities
